THE LINE
Three loops, one steep-sided glen.
There are three looped walking trails in Glanageenty. This recording follows the longest, the Bernard Brothers Loop, a roughly 9 km circuit with a suggested walking time of about three hours. The shorter Glanageenty Loop is about 4 km and Lenihan’s Loop about 5 km. Each has its own character and highlights. Because the woods lie on both sides of a steep glen, sections can have challenging gradients and suitable footwear is advisable.
01Glanageenty trailheadThe recorded circuit begins at the woodland trailhead at approximately 112 m.
02Steep woodland climbWaymarked paths gain height through trees above the glen.
03Bernard Brothers LoopThe longest circuit reaches the more open upper ground and the route high point.
04Woodland returnA changing mix of forest track, steps and glen-side trail closes the loop.
